What Is the Movie the Miracle Worker About
Film merupakan objek yang pantas untuk direfleksi secara kritis karena film mampu membentuk suatu dunia yang dapat menerangkan hubungan manusia, memberikan gambaran atas segala yang bersifat rasio dan dijalankan oleh Tuhan. Film The Miracle Worker dipilih karena film ini memiliki keunikan yaitu bersumber dari autobiografi tokoh Helen Keller yang penting untuk direfleksi terkait pembentukan karakter khususnya bagaimana menyikapi karakter anak yang disabilitas. Pengajaran berbasis pendidikan karakter dari Annie Sullivan kepada Helen Keller adalah pesan moral utama dalam film The Miracle Worker. Tujuan dari penelitian ini: menguraikan isi dan nilai-nilai yang tersirat dalam film The Miracle Worker, menjelaskan konsep klasifikasi nilai Nicholas Rescher dalam aksiologi, dan menganalisis klasifikasi nilai Nicholas Rescher dalam film The Miracle Worker. Penelitian film The Miracle Worker menggunakan sumber primer film beserta skripnya The Miracle Worker. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dan penelitian kepustakaan. Penelitian ditulis dengan model penelitian sistematis-refleksif dengan unsur metodis interpretasi, koherensi intern, kesinambungan historis, dan deskripsi. Hasil penelitian film The Miracle Worker dengan sudut pandang klasifikasi nilai Nicholas Rescher terdiri dari 4 bagian: 1. Klasifikasi berdasarkan objek yang dipermasalahkan. Klasifikasi ini berupa tipe nilai individu yang meliputi nilai kecerdasan, bijaksana, mandiri, pekerja keras, pantang menyerah, dan tegas, serta tipe nilai kelompok yang meliputi menghormati orang lain, serta saling menyayangi dan peduli; 2. Klasifikasi berdasarkan keuntungan yang diperoleh berupa kategori nilai moral, nilai sosial, nilai intelektual, nilai profesional, dan nilai sentimental; 3. Klasifikasi berdasarkan tujuan yang akan dicapai berupa upaya penyembuhan Helen, seorang penyandang disabilitas; 4. Klasifikasi berdasarkan hubungan antara pengemban nilai dengan keuntungan berupa kategori nilai orientasi diri yang diemban oleh tokoh Helen Keller dan kategori nilai-nilai orientasi lainnya yang meliputi nilai-nilai berorientasi pada kelompok dan nilai-nilai berorientasi pada manusia. Nilai-nilai berorientasi pada kelompok terdiri dari nilai berorientasi keluarga dan nilai beorientasi profesi. Nilai-nilai berorientasi pada manusia meliputi kebenaran dan kebajikan, kedamaian, kasih sayang, serta tanpa kekerasan. Klasifikasi nilai yang paling diutamakan dalam mengkaji film The Miracle Worker adalah klasifikasi berdasarkan keuntungan yang diperoleh.
Movie is an object that deserves to be critically reflected because movie is able to form a world that can describe human relationships, illustrate all of that have ratio properties and run by God. The Miracle Worker movie is chosen because this movie has uniqueness that is sourced from the autobiography of the figure Helen Keller that is important to be reflected in related to character building especially how to treat the character of child with disabilities. Teaching system based on character education from Annie Sullivan to Helen Keller is the main moral message in the The Miracle Worker movie. The purpose of this research: describing the content and implied values in the The Miracle Worker movie, explaining the concept of Nicholas Rescher's value classification in axiology, and analyzing the value classification of Nicholas Rescher in the The Miracle Worker movie. Research on The Miracle Worker movie uses the primary source of the movie therewith its script The Miracle Worker. This research is a type of qualitative research and library research. The research was written with systematic-reflexive research model with methodical element of interpretation, internal coherence, historical continuity, and description. The research results of The Miracle Worker movie with viewpoint of Nicholas Rescher's value classification consist of 4 parts: 1. Classification by the objects at issue. This classification is in the form of individual values type that contain the values of intelligence, wise, independent, hard-working, not easily give up, and firm, and group values type that contain respect for others, and love and care for each other; 2. Classification by the nature of the benefit at issue obtains categories of moral value, social value, intellectual value, professional value, and sentimental value; 3. Classification by the purposes at issue contains of healing efforts to Helen, a child with disabilities; 4. Classification by the relationship between the subscriber and the beneficiary consists of self-oriented value categories that carried by the figure Helen Keller and other-oriented value categories that involve ingroup-oriented values and mankind-oriented values. Ingroup-oriented values consist of family-oriented values and profession-oriented values. Mankind-oriented values involve truth and virtue, peacefulness, affection, and non-violence. The most important value classification for analyzing The Miracle Worker movie is classification by the nature of the benefit at issue.
